Orchid Flowers
Orchid flowers are some of the most well known flowers that are known. There are over 22,000 species identified, and hundreds are being discovered every year adding to that total. They are commonly recognized for several different reasons, some of which include their bilateral symmetry and also their parallel vein pattern found on their leaves.
Orchid flowers have an exotic appearance and are often a choice for occasions, such as a wedding. They are a flower that meshes well with others, adding an exotic touch with a classic feel. Even though the species is extremely prevalent, they are often still expensive to purchase depending on the location. The Hawaiian Islands flourish with orchids and so they can often be purchased for less; however, they are pricey in places found on the mainland.
Orchid flowers have special potting needs. While there is a large species amount, orchids are, for the most part, a fairly hardy flower that is very resilient. However, there is one issue that needs to be addressed for the long term health of the plant, and that is overwatering. This species does not survive well in an overly damp environment; they require proper drainage to flourish. Make sure to purchase a pot with several drainage holes for optimum growth results.
