Phalaenopsis Orchid

The phalaenopsis orchid is a flower that is a common species for hobbyist to plant. This species is hardy and fairly resilient, as long as they find a home with a proper drainage system. Commonly referred to as the moth orchid, this species flourishes during the months of December through May.

A phalaenopsis orchid, although easy to plant and manage, are still viewed by most people as exotic, therefore lending them to a higher price range.  One benefit of this species is that, when potted can last and keep its flowers for a fair amount of time, giving of its beauty in turn paying for the cost. They are a great addition to any setting adding a classic yet modern feel to a space.

The phalaenopsis orchid comes in a variety of different colors such as, white, pink, purple, and yellow. The variety in colors makes them a perfect choice for a wedding or special occasion. This species is often the flower of choice for many brides, as they make a beautiful cascading bouquet. However, they are not only a flower that can be used only for special occasions, but rather for multipurpose use in the home and other areas.
