Purple Orchids

Purple orchids are one of the many different species of this flower. The orchid family boasts over 22,000 different species with hundreds more being added each year. They are among the largest known species on earth, outnumbering species of plants and animals alike.

The most common purple orchids are orchis mascula. This type of flower is not generally used for bouquets or corsages, but rather for a table arrangement or decoration in the home due to their large size. They are very aesthetically pleasing in appearance by adding color and life to a space.

Purple orchids are a precious flower that often symbolizes royalty and often mystery. Purple is created through a combination of mixing a warm and cool color, granting it properties from both ends of the spectrum. This allows it to be a multifunctional color, making  a violet flower appropriate for a wedding ceremony, or office desk.
